Broken Down Left Behind
03:26

Waiting around for the other shoe to drop. Standing in line, trying not to get caught. I could take the blame for every broken heart in the world but I'd never break the heart of a graveyard girl. Broken down left behind. I am no the one to say what's on your mind. Broken down and left behind for good. I think I'm drunk enough to drive. Check the lost and found. Asleep in the back seat, burn another one down. How could I have known that the greatest girl in the world is lying beside me every night for life.

I've been sitting here too long. I'm an easy target for conversation, and this conversation is wearing thin. You've been speaking all these words but they make no sense. It's just noise at random and I cannot hope to ever understand. Disconnect the urge for flight, I must be polite and nod quite often. I'll just nod quite often. You're boring me to tears. I must be getting on in years.

Precious

Separate. I can tell you're no longer into it. No one's to blame, you're no longer innocent. You saw fit to quit now you've got no use for it. It's too late. At first it's a whisper, then it becomes a sigh. At first it was precious, now it becomes goodbye. Separate. What once was true is no longer true is no longer true, it's counterfeit. Facing the words no longer heard as avarice. It's quite clear you're insincere. You're out of it, it's too late.

Occupy The Night

Midnight, about time to leave. She waits on him to call. Downtown, it's got to be tonight. She'll rise into the light. Stand up. Break down. Take cover. Occupy the night. Midnight. He waits for her. He stands to close the blinds. Downtown, it's got to be tonight. He'll rise into the light.

This Western Life

Someone turn off this television, I ain't gonna study no more war tonight. Man's inhumanity to man has been written right across my eyes. March me to the river bank, push me down upon my knees and spill out my life. Another western heresy punctured with a bullet and bled out in prime time. Turn away. I can't handle the strain. Turn away. I don't want to feel the pain. Turn away a hundred million times from the promise of this western life. Someone help me find religion because I don't think I can handle all this suffering and grief. There's got to be a rhyme or reason, got to be a safety valve to monitor release. The submachine gun counts the rhythm and all that we can do is dance along while history repeats itself, repeats itself, repeats itself, repeats itself, repeats itself, repeats itself.
